Terms & Conditions

Overview

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of vanderlab.net and any orders or services you place with VanderLab LLC (\"VanderLab,\" \"we,\" \"us,\" or \"our\"). By submitting a quote request, placing an order, or making a payment, you agree to these terms.

Quotes vs. Orders

A quote or estimate provided by VanderLab is not a binding order or guarantee of price or availability. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise noted.

An order is confirmed only after:

  1. You have approved the project specifications in writing (email or message confirmation is acceptable)
  1. A deposit has been received (for direct orders)
  1. A confirmation has been issued by VanderLab

VanderLab reserves the right to decline any order at its discretion.

Deposits & Payment

For direct orders (outside of Etsy), a deposit is required before production begins. The deposit amount will be communicated at the time of your quote.

  • Deposits are non-refundable once production has started
  • The remaining balance is due upon completion, before pickup or shipment
  • Invoices are issued through Square and are payable by the methods listed on the invoice
  • Etsy orders are paid in full through Etsy at the time of purchase

Accounts that remain unpaid beyond 14 days after completion may be subject to a late fee or the item may be held until payment is received.

Client Responsibility for Specifications

You are responsible for providing accurate dimensions, design files, materials preferences, and any other specifications required to complete your order. VanderLab will produce items based on the information and approvals you provide.

If an error in the final product results from incorrect information you provided, VanderLab is not responsible for replacement or refund costs. We encourage you to double-check all measurements and design details before approving production.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Designs you provide remain your intellectual property
  • Designs created by VanderLab for your project remain the property of VanderLab until full payment is received, at which point ownership transfers to you
  • VanderLab reserves the right to photograph completed work and use those images for portfolio, marketing, and social media purposes unless you request otherwise in writing prior to order completion

Portfolio & Photography Use

VanderLab may photograph and share images of completed custom work on our website, social media, or marketing materials. If you prefer your project not be featured, please notify us in writing before your order is completed and we will honor that request.

Limitation of Liability

VanderLab\'s liability for any claim arising from an order or service is limited to the amount paid for that specific order. We are not responsible for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Damages resulting from misuse of the product after delivery
  • Delays caused by shipping carriers, material shortages, or circumstances outside our control

All products are designed for decorative and general use unless otherwise specifically discussed. VanderLab does not warrant that products are suitable for structural, load-bearing, or safety-critical applications.

Accuracy of Information

We do our best to accurately represent materials, finishes, and dimensions on our website and in quotes. However, natural wood grain, color variation, and material characteristics may differ slightly from photos. These variations are inherent to handcrafted and CNC-fabricated work and are not considered defects.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes arising from orders or services will be handled in Alamance County, North Carolina.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically. The most current version will always be posted at vanderlab.net. Continued use of our website or placement of an order constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
